Cloyne G.A.A. Golf Society
Captain’s
Prize (Noel O’Brien)
Cloyne GAA golf society held
their captain’s prize on Saturday 27th. August in Dungarvan
G.C.Our biggest turnout for the year enjoyed beautiful weather on a course
that was in fantastic condition and a test for any golfer. Top honours on the day went to Kevin
Lawton with a great score of 41 stableford points. He was followed home by Ciaran O’Shea
with 40 points.Willie Ring was next on 39 points and our Captain Noel
O’Brien was close behind on 38 points.
Later on that evening Noel threw a barbeque that was the mother of
all barbeques. There was food, drink, music and craic galore from 8 till
late. The big question now is, who is going to follow in Noel’s footsteps?
We would like to
thank Noel for his fantastic spread and also for his generous sponsorship
of most of our prizes. Some of
these prizes were hand crafted just a stones throw away by Mickey Donovan
in his own pottery at his home in Shanagarry. It is nice to see a local
craft supported and Mickey has a wide array of pottery that is specifically
crafted for golf societies and clubs. We would also like to thank McCarthy
Commercials for their sponsorship of some of our prizes on this day and at
many other outings throughout the year.
