Cloyne GAA Outline Development For A New Century
During the years 1996/97,with the ever increasing demands on our playing field in Chapel Street it became apparent that a second field was an absolute necessity for the future development of our games.
At the AGM in 1998 it was unanimously passed that the Club should investigate the purchase of a suitable site. A development committee was set up and eventually the field known locally as "The Bog" was purchased. The location was very important as it was central to the town.It was also adjacent to the local Parish Hall which the club had renovated in 1996 at a cost of IR£ 100,000.The Club had entered a lease with the Parish to oversee it's running for the benefit of the Community. When it became known that the Club had purchased "The Bog" which at the time was covered in about three feet of water,a lot of people were sceptical to say the least.Others just thought we had lost our minds with comments like "Is it water polo they are going playing?"  Hard to blame them when you look at the early photographs of the acquired site.

A vast contrast in what exists today,a complete transformation in a short few years.
