President's Prize 2004
(Mr. Cathal Cronin)Our president's prize (Cathal Cronin) was recently held in Water Rock G.C. as was our captain's prize, a little more than a month earlier. Our original date and venue was down for July 3rd. in Ballykisteen G.C. but due to a lack of numbers travelling, we were forced to re-arrange a date and venue. Cathal was happy to go back to Water Rock on Thursday July 8th. This move was justified as we had 34 golfers competing for Cathal's prize. On the day, everything went off well with a stiff wind making conditions a little tricky. The main honours went to Pa Barry who just piped Dermot O'Shea on the back nine, with both having the same score of 39 points. They were closely followed by Paddy Dunne and Tony O'Shea, both on 38 points with Paddy edging it again with a better back nine.  (See full list of prize winners below)
We would like to thank Cathal for his beautiful prize and to all involved who arranged a fantastic array of prizes at such short notice. We have, after all, just been involved with our clubs golf classic, which was another tremendous success. We would also like to thank Water Rock for accommodating us and having their course in fantastic shape. Thanks also to all who supported us in both playing and the sponsorship of prizes.
